Taman Negara is a fishing paradise for anglers. The popular months for fishing are during drier season in March to September. The Wildlife Department grants fishing permit for two rivers in Taman Negara at Sungai Keniam and Sungai Tembeling.

Fishing at Sungai Keniam
Experience one of the most exotic fishing spots in Malaysia at the crystal clear water, Sungai Keniam. The spots are deep in the jungle and no human habitation on the upstream. It takes about 3 – 4 hours boat ride from Kuala Tahan to Lata Said (the farthest fishing spot that a boat can reach).
The main attractions for anglers to go to Sungai Keniam are Kelah (Malaysian Red Mahseer, greater brook carp, Tor Tambroides), Sebarau (Malaysian jungle perch, Hampala Macrolepidota) and Toman. The fishing spots on this river are least reached by anglers. Therefore, chances for you to have a good catch is higher.
This package is suitable for those who have passion in fishing, prepared to go for long hour boat ride, wading the rapids (at shallow water level rapids), and enjoy camping in inner jungle.
