From Kuala Lumpur to Cameron Highlands by bus

The buses depart from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS), the long distance busses hub in Kuala Lumpur. From KL Sentral, get a train to TBS. You can choose either by KTMB Train or KLIA Transit Train.

There are 2 main bus provides. They are Unititi and CS Travel express. Ticket is RM35.00 one way. The journey estimated takes 3.5 hours and the drop-off point at Tanah Rata Bus Station. Expect windy and bumpy road on the route from Tapah to Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands.

From Cameron Highlands to Kuala Lumpur by bus

The buses depart from Tanah Rata Bus Terminal to TBS and KL Sentral on daily basis. The earliest bus departs at 08.30am and last bus at 05.30pm. Please check your tour itinerary in Cameron Highlands.
If your tour ends at 2.00pm you still catch the bus back to Kuala Lumpur at 3.00pm or 4.00pm or 5.30pm. If you are taking a full day Cameron Highlands tours, your package ends at 6.00pm. Therefore, you have to catch the bus on the following day.

From Penang to Cameron Highlands by bus

Traveling by bus is the best way to reach Cameron Highlands from Penang as it is one of the easiest and cheapest modes of transport between the two places. There are several bus provides serves on this route such as Unititi Express, Newsia and Billion Star Express, CS Travel.

Duration required for bus from Penang to Cameron Highlands is about 3 – 4.5 hours depending on traffic condition. Washroom break will be provided upon request to driver during the journey.

There are a few pick points in Penang such as Nibong Tebal and Komtar. It arrival point in Cameron Highlands is at Tanah Rata bus terminal. From the terminal, visitors can easily get a taxi to go to your pre-booked resort in Cameron Highlands.

All Unititi Express, GT Express, CS Travel are alighting passengers at Sungai Nibong Bus Terminal. From the terminal, passengers need to take local bus services 401 or taxi to go to Georgetown. Bus stop and Taxi is just beside Sungai Nibong Bus Terminal.

From Ipoh to Cameron Highlands by bus

Bus from Ipoh to Cameron Highlands is a popular tourist bus route. Travelers usually will spend 2-3 days stay in Ipoh before taking bus to Cameron Highlands for natural adventure.

Perak Transit is the only operator serving bus from Ipoh to Cameron Highlands. Their frequent schedule starts as early as 8:00 morning until the last bus at 19:30 evening. Duration required for bus from Ipoh to Cameron Highlands is about 1.5-2 hours depending on traffic condition.
The bus departs from Aman Jaya Bus Terminal and arrives at Tanah Rata Bus Terminal. From the bus terminal, take city bus to Ipoh City Center.

From Cameron Highlands To Ipoh

Bus from Cameron Highlands to Ipoh is the most frequent bus service in Cameron Highlands Bus Terminal. The journey for bus Cameron Highlands to Ipoh takes about 2 hours to meander through the winding road which is full mountain view. There is NO stopover during the journey. Passengers are advised to ease yourself before the start of the journey.

Self drive by car

From North-South Expressway, exit the expressway at Tapah and then proceed via route 59 straight to the highlands. It takes about 1 hr 30 min to reach the first town of Ringlet.
Alternatively, you can exit the expressway at Simpang Pulai, Ipoh and proceed via route 145 to Cameron Highlands. It takes about 1 hr to reach the first town, Kampung Raja. Condition of this route is significantly better than Route 59 from Tapah.

Taxi

Taxi service available from 6.00 am till 10.00 pm, actually in Cameron Highlands most of the taxis have no meter as regulation by Suruhanjaya Pengangkutan Awam Darat (SPAD), regulates and enforces all matters relating to land public transport in Peninsular Malaysia.
