Places > Kampung Orang Asli
It is amazing to see how the aborigines live in a totally different way from us. Know these people; their villages, houses, and activities. They still live in original fashion of lifestyle.
These people are known as Orang Asli, Orang Asli. They are the aborigines of Peninsular Malaysia. Orang Asli live in nomadic and hunt in Taman Negara.
There are two groups of them, Batek and Semokberi. Their physical appearances look almost similar. Batek who are more gentle, short , dark skin and tight curly hair, whilst Semokberi have wavy hair. They live in simple basic structure of palm-thatched shelters with several families live together. Some of the shelters are alongside the trails.
They get their food from forest such as fruits, yam and animal for meat. They use traditional hunting weapon called a blow pipe. Just ask them how to use it and they are happy to show it to you. Their skills and knowledge in Taman Negara make them a very good guide if you need to explore Taman Negara and Gunung Tahan.
These people are friendly and know how to respect outside people like us. In return, please do the same to them. Respect their individual and family privacy. You can take photograph with their permission.
