If you dare to be at the top, Gunung Tahan is one of the best summits for you to choose. Gunung Tahan (2,187m), located in Taman Negara, National Park is the highest mountain in west Malaysia. It’s about 53km trekking distance from Kampung Kuala Tahan, Jerantut and only 32 km trekking from Kuala Juram, Merapoh.
There are 3 trails to reach the peak of the mountain:-
1. Merapoh (Sungai Relau)
2. Kuala Tahan (classic trail)
3. Kelantan (new & seldom used trail)

The original Kuala Tahan, is the longest and most challenging trail. It takes 4 trekking days and you need to climb 27 peaks and cross 7 rivers to reach the Gunung Tahan summit. New trail, opened in 1993 via Merapoh, takes only 2 trekking days for you to reach the summit.

1. Organized your own group expedition (minimum of 10 pax)
The best time to climb this mountain is during dry season from March to September. It’s closed from mid of November to mid of January of the year due to monsoon season. Choose any suitable date to start and end date based on your preference. You also may choose your preferable trail.
2. Join our open group expedition
If you have less than 10 pax in your group, we suggest this is the best option. Currently we organize Trail Merapoh – Kuala Tahan and Merapoh – Merapoh.
