    Perhentian consist of two islands, namely Pulau Perhentian Besar (Large Island) and Pulau Perhentian Kecil (Small Island). They are situated 21 km off coast of Terangganu, on the South China Sea.     Perhentian Islands are connected via boat, road, rail and air transportation system from cities and towns throughout Malaysia. The best route from your location is to get straight to Kuala Besut Jetty by road (bus/shuttle/self drive), and then proceed to Perhentian Island by boat. If there is no direct transfer from your departure point, get either to either Jerteh or Kuala Terengganu or Kota Bharu then proceed to Kuala Besut Jetty.

    Most of the accommodations are located along the beautiful beach of Pulau Perhentian Besar and Perhentian Kecil. Pulau Perhentian Besar, which is more developed, offers better facilities and better quality resorts. On the other hands Pulau Perhentian Kecil is more geared towards backpackers where you’ll find a wide range of budget options for both accommodation and food.
